Yep, That’s Us In Pluribus
Almost two years ago, out of the blue, we were contacted by the creators of Breaking Bad. They were working a new show for Apple TV, and they wanted to know if they could use our donuts in the show.
We said “Sure, why not,” thinking maybe it’d be a quick minor cameo, a donut box in the background or something. Little did we know…
Then early last year came their first request: could we ship a hundred dozen donuts to the set… across the country… overnight?
We spent an entire day frying, glazing, and carefully packing box after box, making sure every donut would arrive looking (and tasting) perfect. And that was just their first order.
We didn’t really know what was happening to them until the Pluribus date announcement dropped… and there they were.
Our donuts. Front and center.
As soon as the video dropped, all of our locations started getting calls like this, every day: “Are you guys real? Are these the donuts in the new Vince Gilligan show? Is this some elaborate publicity stunt by the showrunners?”
Yep, we’re real. We’ve been making delicious donuts since 2015.
It’s been wild seeing Sandy Pony Donuts on the silver screen, and we couldn’t be prouder.
So when you see our donuts while you’re watching Pluribus, know they’re 100% real, fresh, and shipped straight from our kitchen.

Q: Were those your real donuts in the show?
A: Absolutely. We shipped them fresh to the shoot.
Q: Did the actors actually eat them?
A: We have no idea… but we’re guessing there were very few leftovers.
Q: Why does the box say sandyponydonut.com instead of sandyponydonuts.com?
A: We’ve seen people online wondering if there’s some secret meaning behind that. There’s not. Here’s the boring truth: when we first started Sandy Pony, we couldn’t get the domain with the “s” at the end, so we went with what was available. Now, thankfully, we own it, so donut just redirects to donuts.
Q: Do you make smiley-face donuts like Vince Gilligan handed out in San Diego?
We would love to make some smiley-face donuts like the Vince & the show team handed out the day before the date announcement, but it’s basically impossible to decorate a hot donut with icing. The icing design just melts right to into the glaze.
Q: Do you ship your donuts?
A: Not unless you want to order 100 dozen and make them the star of your TV show… But you’re welcome to get them hot and fresh from any of our locations!
Q: Will I get infected with happiness from eating Sandy Pony donuts?
Our donuts have been known to cause happiness… just not the creepy kind in Pluribus. 😂
