The Story of

Sandy Pony Donuts

From a food truck on Chincoteague Island to five thriving locations across Delmarva.

Our Beginning

We started in April 2015, serving hot, fresh donuts from a food truck on Chincoteague Island, inspired by the island’s famous wild ponies. Word spread quickly, lines grew longer, and Sandy Pony Donuts was born.

Two women standing in a kitchen, smiling; one giving a thumbs-up. The woman on the left is wearing a black shirt, ripped jeans, sneakers, and a gray cap. The woman on the right is wearing glasses, a graphic T-shirt, a plaid shirt, jeans, and sneakers. The kitchen has wooden cabinets and a counter with a fruit bowl and appliances.

The Founders

Brea and Ben grew up together, both attending Southern High School in Maryland. With Brea’s creativity and love for food and Ben’s background in construction and business, they combined talents to create something special. After months of experimenting with flavors, they launched 24 donut combinations that remain our core menu today.

Growth & Community

From that first food truck, we expanded to Annapolis, Bethany Beach, and Dewey Beach. Everywhere we go, the community embraces our fresh donuts, bubble tea, açaí bowls, and local coffee.
