Sandy Pony Donuts in The Capital Gazette
The Capital Gazette recently took the time to catch up with us this January as we were just settling into our new home in Annapolis. Here are some of the details about what we shared and talked about with award-winning reporter E.B. Furgurson, III.
We opened our food truck in April 2015 in the beach resort of Chincoteague, Virginia. The community reaction was greater than we could have expected and we instantly became a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike.
We opened the doors to our Annapolis location in October 2015 and received nearly the same community response here as in Chincoteague.
Mr. Furgeson went on to delve into how Sandy Pony Donuts got its start, asking about everything from how we met to how we got the idea for the business. He also provides a detailed outline of all the products we offer at the shop, including the bubble tea, The Island Creamy Poly Pile, and our exclusive recipe for our protein donut.
Since then we have been surprised and humbled by the immense outpouring of support from Annapolis. While we have been working nearly seven days a week, it is always a pleasure when someone new comes into the shop and tries our donuts for the first time. We are also grateful for our regular customers and are starting to create valuable relationships with the folks of Maryland’s historic state capital.
We want to thank everyone for our success thus far, and we look forward to serving the community for years to come! Click here to read the full about Sandy Pony Donuts in the Capital Gazette article by E.B. Furgurson, III.
